El Caballo Estrella
Tequila 100% de Blue Agave and 51/49%

 

El Caballo Estrella has been highly crafted inside old brick ovens. This process gives a smoky unique aroma. Our Reposado and Añejo Tequilas are been aged in oak whiskey barrels coming from Europe. The most demanding connoisseur will enjoy El Caballo Estrella Tequilas because of their unique characteristics.

El Caballo Estrella is bottled according to the Official Mexican Standard for Tequila called NOM.

Tequila has two classifications or categories. 100% de Agave and 51/49% called Mixto.
 

100% DE AGAVE
100% Agave Tequila- "Tequila 100% de Agave" o "Tequila 100% pure de Agave"
which is produced only the sugars from the blue Agave.

Tequila 100% de Agave Blanco
Blanco tequila that is not aged or treated with additives. This clear tequila goes through the cooling coils of the alambique twice, allowing this type of tequila to have the aroma and flavor of the pure Blue Agave.

Tequila 100% Reposado - Rested or Aged
Reposado (rested) is the first stage of aging, this process that allows the tequila to rest as the word as the name suggests. El Caballo Estrella tequila remains in wooden barrels for a period of four months to six months, but no longer than 12 months.

Tequila 100% Añejo - Aged

This tequila is aged in oak whiskey barrels for more than 12 months. Some of our oak barrels are made in French. We use these barrels to aged our Caballo Estrella Tequila Añejo, these barrels have resins and tanning products in bedded in the wood that seeps through the tequila, giving a dramatic impact in the finished product, which set us apart from other tequilas.
 


51 – 49% MIXTO

Mixto tequila is produced with out additives and mixed with other sugars

Blanco or Silver
Blanco tequila is treated without preservatives. This is the traditional tequila that is clear and fresh from the stainless steel. Blanco is also referred as white or silver tequila. Blanco tequila that is not aged or treated with preservatives. This clear tequila goes through the cooling coils of the alambique twice allowing this type of tequila to have the aroma and flavor of the pure Blue Agave; it is typically a little stronger profile.

Oro or Gold
Gold or Oro tequila is mellowed by adding colors and flavorings such as caramel. This tequila is commonly used to make Margaritas. This type of tequila has the aroma and flavor of the Blue Agave. This Caballo Estrella is treated to have a smoother profile
